Vivienne Antique Gold floral-crest full-length mirror reflecting a furnished bedroom

How to Choose a Vintage-Style Full-Length Mirror for Your Bedroom

Choose a vintage-style full-length mirror by matching its frame, dimensions, finish, and supported placement to your bedroom. Start with where you get dressed and the space you can use, then narrow the designs you like.

Which design should you compare first?

Use the frame detail to make a shortlist, then check each mirror's measurements and setup requirements.

What you want in your bedroom Compare first What to check
Layered frame detail without a large decorative crest Estelle Stepped molding, corner shape, and proportions beside your furniture
An arched top with texture around the edge DelphineAntique Gold / Black Beaded detail, finish, listed width, and the dressing view you need
A mirror that becomes a decorative focal point Vivienne or Aurelia Crest motif, surrounding wall space, and nearby furniture

The sections below explain the differences and the measurements to confirm before ordering.

Vintage-style or antique: what are you buying?

A newly made vintage-inspired mirror gives you traditional-looking details in a new product. Molding, beaded edges, and decorative crests describe its style; they do not establish its age.

The LunaMirror examples in this guide are new mirrors with polyurethane (PU) frames. Antique Gold is a finish name, not a claim of antique age or gold construction. If you want an old piece with documented provenance, check for that evidence separately.

Where should you put a full-length mirror in a bedroom?

Choose a location near where you get dressed, with a usable viewing position and enough room to open doors and drawers. Plan the complete setup, including any space behind the frame.

Start beside the wardrobe, near the dresser, or along an open wall. Open nearby doors and drawers fully, and check the route between your bed and closet. An empty-looking corner may still be part of your everyday walking path.

Stand where you expect to check an outfit and consider what the mirror will reflect. A view of furniture you enjoy or an uncluttered part of the room may work better for you than the side of a crowded shelf.

When comparing full-length mirrors, include the space needed for the chosen placement. A rear stand extends beyond the frame, and a leaning arrangement also occupies floor space. Width and height alone do not tell you the total footprint.

Which frame should you choose: beaded, ornate, or molded?

Choose the frame according to the detail already in your bedroom and how prominent you want the mirror to be. Compare molding for a layered outline, beads for a textured border, or a crest for a stronger decorative focus.

Stepped molding: compare Estelle beside detailed furniture

The Estelle Full-Length Rounded Corner Mirror has stepped molding, rounded upper corners, and square lower corners.

If your headboard, dresser, or bedding already has plenty of detail, compare Estelle's layered outline beside those pieces. Its molding adds interest without a large crest competing for attention above the mirror.

A beaded arch: compare Delphine for a textured border

The Delphine Full-Length Beaded Arched Mirror in Antique Gold combines an arched top with continuous beaded detailing. Its listed size is 21 inches wide by 57 inches high. The design is also offered as the Delphine Full-Length Beaded Arched Mirror in Black.

Choose this border if you want an arch with decorative detail around the edge. For a narrower wall, start by comparing Delphine's listed 21-inch width with the space available. Before deciding, confirm the full setup depth and whether its height and visible glass provide the dressing view you need.

A decorative crest: compare Vivienne or Aurelia as a focal point

The Vivienne Full-Length Floral Crest Mirror in Antique Gold has a floral crest and scrolling details. The Aurelia Full-Length Ornate Arched Mirror in Antique Gold uses a wheat-inspired crest and layered ornament. Both have a listed size of 28 inches wide by 69 inches high.

If you want the mirror to become a focal point, compare these two crest designs on an open stretch of wall. Leave enough visual space above and beside the ornament to see its outline clearly. A floral motif may connect with patterns you already enjoy; the wheat-inspired crest offers a different decorative direction.

What size vintage-style full-length mirror fits your bedroom?

Choose the size by comparing confirmed overall measurements with your available space and intended viewing position. Full-length is a product category, so check the actual view you need for your height and setup.

These examples show listed widths and heights in inches. They are not an exhaustive list of every size and finish combination.

Design Listed size examples, W × H Frame detail
Estelle 28W × 69H; 32W × 71H Stepped molding and rounded upper corners
Delphine 21W × 57H Beaded arched frame
Vivienne 28W × 69H Floral crest and scrolling details
Aurelia 28W × 69H Wheat-inspired crest and layered ornament

Check the selected size and finish on the product page, then measure in this order:

  1. Available space: Note the usable width and height, including furniture, trim, outlets, and door movement.
  2. Complete outside dimensions: Confirm whether the listed measurements include the frame and any decorative crest. Ask for clarification if the measurement method is unclear.
  3. Wall outline: Use a paper template to compare the proposed width and height with your bed, dresser, or wardrobe.
  4. Setup depth: Confirm the stand's full depth or the footprint needed for a supported leaning arrangement. A flat paper template cannot show these.
  5. Reflective area: Check the visible glass dimensions if the frame leaves you unsure about the dressing view. Product dimensions and usable glass area are different measurements.

In a smaller bedroom, compare the space required by each supported setup before choosing a size. A wall-mounted option and a narrower freestanding mirror use the room differently.

Should you choose a gold or black vintage-style mirror?

Choose the finish alongside your wall color, furniture, and existing hardware. Repeating a finish can connect the mirror to the room; a contrasting outline can make it more prominent.

For a gold-toned frame, compare it with a lamp, dresser handles, or other details already in the bedroom. Delphine, Vivienne, and Aurelia each offer the Antique Gold designs discussed here. Compare the border and crest as well as the color.

If you want a dark outline, compare Delphine in Black with a dark bed frame, window trim, or bedside hardware. The beaded arch adds texture while the finish connects with those darker elements.

Estelle also offers Antique Bronze, Antique Gold, and Antique Silver finishes. Check the product selector for the size and finish combination you want; options vary by design.

Freestanding, leaning, or wall-mounted: which setup fits?

Choose a placement method supported by the specific mirror, then follow its instructions. Compare the floor space, wall conditions, and securing requirements before settling on the setup.

The product descriptions for Estelle, Delphine, Vivienne, and Aurelia list freestanding, leaning, and wall-mounted use. Check the following for your chosen model:

  • Freestanding: Confirm the stand's required setup, complete depth, and any securing instructions. Include the floor space behind the mirror.
  • Leaning: Follow the instructions for positioning and securing it. Resting a mirror against a wall does not establish that it is properly secured.
  • Wall-mounted: Confirm the complete mirror weight, hanging-point arrangement, wall construction, and suitable fixings. Included hardware does not establish compatibility with every wall.

For Delphine, Vivienne, and Aurelia, LunaMirror's product details state that a removed rear stand cannot be reattached, and that wall mounting does not require removing it. Review the instructions before taking the stand off.

What should you confirm before ordering?

Your shortlist is ready when you have matched a design to a location, confirmed the measurements, and checked the supported setup.

  • Design: Does the molding, beaded border, or crest work with the furniture around it?
  • Fit: Have you checked the complete dimensions, usable viewing area, and setup depth?
  • Selected options: Are the size, finish, and frame material the ones you intend to buy?
  • Installation: Do you have the appropriate instructions, fixings, and any help needed for the chosen placement?
